Study shows CapeTalk listeners are the more likely to get colds and flu - and treat them.

Winter brings about more than just cold weather, it’s also the season that’s synonymous with coughs, colds and flu.

According to a study conducted by Primedia Broadcasting, 42% of the listeners across it’s radio stations have suffered from cold, cough, sinus or hay fever in the past four weeks. Coughs, colds and flu are the most common ailment experienced.

19% suffered from colds, 16% from sough, 23% from flu, 3% suffered from sinus, and 2% from hay fever in the past four weeks.

However, 56% of these listeners use cold and flu remedies to alleviate the suffering.

CapeTalk listeners are the most susceptible to colds and flu, with 23% suffering from colds, and 31% from flu in the past four weeks.

947 listeners are the most susceptible to colds in Gauteng, with a higher than normal propensity to suffer than the region’s population.
